Richard Lo Architectural Designer
With over 20 years experience of design and project management, Richard has worked on a diverse range of projects in Maine and beyond. Since gaining registration as an architect in New Zealand in 1996 he has worked in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, France and Maine.
Recent projects include up-scale residences, island homes, a 21-unit multi-family condominium building, low-income inner-city housing, interior renovations, and the comprehensive upgrading and refurbishment of a luxury 48-room shingle style coastal inn involving extensive additions to provide new lobby, dining, conference and spa amenities as well as guest rooms and back-of-house services. His previous work also includes commercial interiors and a community library.
Richard has a reputation for attention to detail and responding to his clients’ needs and wishes with built solutions that exceed their expectations. He is passionate about design and has served on the Architalx Board of Directors, or Advisory Board, since 2003.
He holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Building Science, from Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand.
Richard tutored architectural design and interior design at Victoria University. He has traveled extensively around the world and his drawings and photographs have been exhibited in Maine and New Zealand. Since 2002 he has lived in Portland.
